At Coharbor Electric, we believe electricity is more than wires and panels — it’s comfort, safety, and peace of mind.
Through Coharbor Cares, we give back to our Southwest Florida community with free electrical services, donations, and support for local organizations, families, schools, and veterans.
Each year, we complete projects that restore safety, brighten homes, and help our neighbors feel seen, supported, and cared for.
Coharbor Cares is our way of using what we do best — electrical work — to serve those who need a helping hand. Throughout the year, we invite our community to nominate people and organizations in Southwest Florida who could benefit from free or discounted electrical services.
Here’s how the process works:
You Submit a Nomination
Share the story of a neighbor, family, teacher, veteran, or local nonprofit that’s facing a hardship or needs help with electrical work.
Our Team Reviews Every Story
Our leadership and marketing teams carefully review nominations, focusing on safety needs, urgency, and impact.
Recipients Are Selected
Depending on the campaign, we select one or more recipients for donated services, repairs, upgrades, or sponsorship.
We Complete the Project
Our licensed electricians perform the work with the same care and craftsmanship we bring to every job.
We Share the Story
When appropriate, we highlight the project through photos, video, and storytelling — not to show off, but to inspire more good in Southwest Florida.
Each year, Coharbor Cares focuses on four key groups in our community:
Local Businesses & Nonprofits
Organizations that are serving others but need help with critical electrical needs.
Neighbors & Families Facing Hardship
People dealing with unexpected medical bills, job loss, or other challenges that make home repairs feel out of reach.
Teachers, Schools & Youth Programs
Classrooms and programs that shape the next generation and could benefit from safer, brighter learning environments.
Veterans & Military Families
Those who have served our country and deserve safe, comfortable, well-lit homes and spaces.
If your nomination doesn’t fit perfectly into one category, that’s okay — what matters most is the story and the need.

Each Coharbor Cares project is different, but may include:
Electrical safety inspections
Panel or service upgrades (when appropriate)
Repairing unsafe or failed wiring
Installing or upgrading lighting (indoor or outdoor)
Safety lighting for walkways and entries
Code and safety corrections
Other essential electrical services that improve safety and quality of life
The specific work we provide will depend on the situation, the home or facility, and what’s needed most.
Note: Coharbor Cares projects must be within our Southwest Florida service area and within the scope of services Coharbor Electric provides.
In 2026, Coharbor Cares will run a series of campaigns designed to reach different parts of our community:
January — Coharbor Cares Bracket Challenge
A fun, tournament-style community vote supporting local businesses, nonprofits, and charities.
April — Neighbors Who Shine
Highlighting and helping an individual or family who could use a brighter, safer home.
July — Bright Futures
Giving back to teachers, classrooms, and youth programs before the new school year.
November — Powering Heroes
Providing electrical services and support for local veterans and military families around Veterans Day.
Throughout the year, our goal is simple: turn our electrical expertise into real, local impact.
