PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 200 AMP QO MAIN PANEL AND SUB PANEL INSTALLATION – SANIBEL, FL
We recently completed a residential electrical upgrade in Sanibel, FL 33957 that included installing a new 200 amp main breaker panel along with a NEMA-3R rated 80 amp sub panel. The installation included a mix of single and double-pole QO breakers, a dedicated whole home surge protector, and a full ground bar setup—making this home safer and future-ready for increased electrical demands.
WHAT WE DID:
- Installed (1) QO 200 amp main breaker (specific model shown in photos)
- Installed (1) 80 amp NEMA-3R outdoor sub panel with a 1” hub
- Installed (1) 8-space ground bar with a main lug
- Installed the following Square D QO breakers:
- (1) 2-pole 20 amp breaker
- (1) single pole 20 amp breaker
- (1) 2-pole 45 amp breaker
- (1) 2-pole 30 amp QO breaker
- Integrated a Vortex whole home surge protector at the panel
- Conducted full safety checks and confirmed clean, code-compliant wiring

This upgrade gives the homeowner a modern, reliable electrical infrastructure with added protection from surges—especially important in coastal areas like Sanibel. With more breaker space and high-quality Square D components, the system is set for both safety and expansion.
