PROJECT DESCRIPTION: PUMP RECEPTACLE RELOCATION WITH 4X4 POST – FORT MYERS, FL
Coharbor Electric recently completed a project in Fort Myers, FL, involving the relocation of pump receptacles for two fiber optic pits located on opposite sides of a parking lot. The goal was to create a more durable and accessible setup while ensuring code compliance.
WHAT WE DID:
- Installed new 4×4 posts beside each fiber optic pit to mount pump receptacles securely
- Cut and relocated the existing electrical conduit feeding the pump receptacle onto the new posts
- Installed new outdoor-rated receptacle boxes with cover plates for protection
- Added new pump whips, since the existing whips were too short to reach the new receptacle locations
- Routed the new whips through the existing conduit into each fiber optic pit
- Completed trenching work, post installation, conduit adjustments, and all necessary labor
THE RESULT:
Both fiber optic pits now have pump receptacles securely mounted on dedicated 4×4 posts, making them easier to access and maintain. With new pump whips and conduit adjustments, the system is reliable, weather-resistant, and built to last. The relocation also ensures compliance with safety and code requirements while keeping the installation clean and professional.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why were the receptacles relocated?
The original placement wasn’t ideal for accessibility or long-term durability. Relocating them to 4×4 posts made them easier to reach and maintain.
What materials were included in the job?
We provided posts, receptacles, boxes, cover plates, conduit, pump whips, and all trenching and labor.
Do pump whips need to be replaced often?
Not usually, but in this case, the existing ones were too short to reach the new location, so replacements were necessary.
Is this type of work weatherproof?
Yes, we use outdoor-rated boxes, covers, and conduits to ensure the receptacles withstand Florida’s weather.
Does Coharbor Electric handle other outdoor wiring projects?
Absolutely. We handle dock and marine wiring, landscape lighting, and more across Fort Myers and surrounding areas.
